MANC STREET BUSKER!
MD OF MANCHESTER START-UP CAROO TURNS TO BUSKING TO GET CUSTOMER APP DOWNLOADS
Manchester, 10th July: A Manchester based Managing Director has turned to busking in a bid to get new customer app downloads during the pandemic.
Gareth Peterson, MD of fast-growing start-up, Caroo took to the streets of Manchester this week armed with a guitar and a homemade sign to serenade hundreds of intrigued passers-by.
The wannabe guitarist headed to St. Peters Square, sporting a dodgy wig and belted out a self-written song with lyrics that would put Elton John to shame.
The cheeky stunt is proof you don't need mega-budgets to market yourself, with Caroo reporting an uptick in sign-ups in the past few days.

Based in the heart of Manchester, Caroo is shaking-up the recruitment sector in the North-West, using smart tech to connect great companies with awesome talent.
Big brands like Co-Op, LadBible, Adidas, and On-the-Beach are already using the Caroo platform - and the start-up has big plans for the rest of 2020 with exciting news to be announced soon.
Gareth is no stranger to being the face of whacky marketing ploys, with other recents stunts including dishing out fake parking tickets, and using a cherry picker to scale office windows and encourage workers to look for a new job.
Gareth Peterson, Caroo MD and part-time Busker, said:
"2020 has thrown up some obvious challenges for a start-up business like Caroo, which means we're always looking at creative ways to get people talking about us. Obviously the busking is a bit of fun, but we're serious, and passionate, about the Caroo platform and how it is connecting employers with top talent using technology. In the past few weeks, we've seen a spike in sign-ups which is great news for the sector."
